ITUC stages demos against anti labour, anti farmer policies.

Gadchiroli Nov. 28 (District Correspondent) The workers unions attached to ITUC staged demonstrations at Wadsa Desiganj on in protest against the anti-labour and anti-farmer policies of the central and state governments and to press the various demands of the citizens of the country under the leadership of State Secretary of ITUC Com. Vinod Zodge.

Various important demands were raised that included withdrawal of smart prepaid electricity meters, group schools, school adoption scheme, legislation for guaranteed price for agricultural produces, giving the status of government employees to Anganwadi Workers, Asha group promoters, school nutrition workers, implementation of minimum wage of Rs. 26,000, providing social security, and cancelling the four labour laws, clearing the pending forest rights claims, applying the old pension scheme etc.

The demands also included that the fees of competitive examination be reduced on the lines of Rajasthan Govt., providing K. G. to P. G. education free of cost to all the students. It was warned that the next nationwide agitation will be intensified with all these demands.

Under the leadership of ITUC, a Sangharsh Yatra has started from Kolhapur with the demand of removing the present government, protecting the country and protecting the Constitution from November 20 and this Sangharsh Yatra is going to arrive at Gadchiroli on Dec. 15 next. To welcome this Sangharsh Yatra, a huge rally will be held from Gondwana Bhavan to Gandhi Chowk at 12 in the morning.  It was appealed to participate in this rally in large numbers.

State Secretary of ITUC Com. Vinod Zodge, School Nutrition Staff Union’s Com. Kunda Kohpare, Ashok Sonwane, Nazreen Pathan, Anand Dhakade, Pramila Kharkate, Bharti Chanekar, Asha Rakhde, Chhaya Guru, Chhaya Thackeray, Anganwadi Union’s, Com. Radha Thakre, Meenakshi Zode, Rashika Kuthe, Mira Bangre, Kanta Fating, Neha Shah and large number of workers participated in the agitation.
