Gadchiroli Nov. 28 (District correspondent) A ‘Sanvidhan Sanman Mahotsava’ will be celebrated in the Gondwana University.

A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of University Senate held recently under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Dr. Prashant Bokare in the meeting hall of the University recently.

Dr. Milind Bhagat presented a proposal to celebrate the festival and it was approved by Mr. Deepak Dhopte and the resolution was unanimously passed.

The proposal was discussed in detail in the meeting. After the discussion it was decided that the festival will be organized during the year to mark the Amrit Mahotsav of Indian Constitution through Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Center of the university.

The Indian Constitution has not only gifted the eternal values ​​of equality, liberty, justice, fraternity to Indians but also inculcated them in everyone. The University Act states that the objective of the University is to create constitutionalism among the students, therefore, erecting an inscription of the Preamble of the Constitution of India in the newly constructed academic campus of the University or in the facade of the University can express gratitude to the Constitution and fulfill the University’s goal of creating the Constitutional morality among the students, it was said.

The funds of Rs.5.00 lakh will be made available for this purpose, declared Dr. Bokare. A unanimous resolution was passed that the festival will also be celebrated in all the affiliated colleges. The Preamble of the Constitution will be read in the colleges after the National Anthem and an inscription of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution will be erected on the facade of the new campus of the university at Adapalli (Gogaon) near the city, it was also decided.

Constitution of India in the syllabus- The Board of Political Science and the Faculty of Anthropology have approved the introduction of Constitution of India as a subject for the first semester of all degree courses of Gondwana University and the university intends to implement this from the next semester. For this, University Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan has made a special effort.
