Dy. Engineer of MSEDCL arrested for bribe.

Gadchiroli Oct. 18 (District Correspondent) A Deputy Engineer of MSEDCL, Allapalli one Vinodkumar Bhoyar (47) was caught red handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 on Tuesday.

According to ACB, Boyar asked a man to pay a fine of Rs. 2.20 lakhs by telling him that his meter is faulty. After some discussion, the officer reduced the amount of fine to Rs. 73,698 and demanded a bribe of Rs. 40,000 for reducing his fine amount.

As the person did not want to give bribe, he complained the matter to the ACB office. The ACB men then swung into action and after verifying the facts, prepared a trap. Bhoyar was then caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the man as the first instalment of the bribe money.

A case has been registered against Bhoyar under relevant sections of Anti-Corruption Act in this regard. His residence at Warora in Chandrapur district also is being checked by the Chandrapur ACB team.

The operation was conducted by Police Inspector Shreedhar Bhosle, Shivaji Rathod, Assistant Fuazdar Sunil Peddiwar, Hawaldars Natthu Dhote, Rajesh Padmagiriwar, Police constables Kishor Thakur, Sandeep Udan, Bikramjeet Sarkar under the guidance of ACB SP Rahul Manakikar and Additional SP Sachin Kadam.
