Gadchiroli May 18 (District correspondent) The 12 the anniversary of the ‘Sanvidhan Sabhagriha’, a meeting hall raised by Mr. Dharmanand Meshram was celebrated recently.

Mr. Meshram, who is Extension Officer (Education) by profession and is also associated with the social organization ‘Social Education Movement’ (SEM), constructed this hall 12 years back on the first floor of his residential house ‘Baliraja Palace’ on Chamorshi Road of the city.

The spacious hall is equipped with all the necessary facilities required for any meeting or programme such as chairs, sound system, podium, tables, photos of the social reformers etc. The hall also has a facility of wash room, drinking water and other such things needed. The hall is well maintained and finely ventilated with ceiling fans and decorated with the ‘Preamble of the Constitution of India and thoughts of the great social reformers painted on the walls.

Out of social commitment, Mr. Meshram has been providing this hall totally free of cost for the social, religious programmes since the past 12 years continuously. The members of Meshram family has been rendering all the necessary services personally. The place has become a centre of social movement and has been spreading the message of social reformers.

So far hundreds of social programmes have taken place in this hall. The different segments of society including OBCs, STs, minorities, employees’ unions also have been availing the benefit of this hall. Even the dignitaries from other states also have attended the events here. The hall has witnessed the lectures of many scholars, academicians, intellectuals and social activists so far.

Taking into consideration the dedicated venture of Mr. Meshram, the anniversary of the hall was celebrated in a simple programme. Many dignitaries of the city including Mr. Rohidas Raut, Dr. Kailash Nagrale, Vilas Nimborkar, Prin. Prakash Dudhe, Jaykumar Meshram, Shyam Ramteke, Kaka Gadkari, Dhammarao Tanadu, Ms. Pravrutti Walke and others expressed their views on the occasion and highly appreciated the selfless and dedicated venture of Mr. Dharmanand Meshram and his family.

‘There are very rarest of the rare people in the society who have such a generous and serving attitude in the present-day time and Mr. Dharmanand Meshram is one of them’, observed the speakers.

Expressing his views on the occasion Mr. Dharmanand Meshram said that he and his family is very happy to make available this hall for the social activities and reiterated his desire to continue the venture in the future too that was welcomed by the citizens with a huge applause.

Mr. Raj Bansod conducted the programme and Dhammarao Tanadu proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of activists and well wishers of Mr. Meshram attended the programme.
