Register offence of culpable homicide in Chichdoh Barrage case demands Nete.

Gadchiroli May 17 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli Chimur Lok Sabha MP Ashok Nete has demanded registration of offence under culpable homicide against those responsible for the security and maintenance of the Chichdoh Barrage in which 4 youths had drowned recently.

Mr. Nete met the family members of the deceased youths at Chamorshi the other day and consoled them for the loss.  The MP also extended some financial help to the kins of the deceased youths during this visit and got detailed information of the tragedy.

The families have suffered an irreparable loss as the very earning members have lost their lives, Nete said and added that those engaged in the security and maintenance of the Barrage should be dealt with severely. He talked to the Chief Engineer Pawar and Dy. Engineer Shubham Meshram over phone about the incident and gave them necessary directives about the security measures.

Chichdoh Barrage is the prohibited area and people are restricted to go there. For this, security personnel have been appointed on the site. However, those engaged in the security and the officials of the Irrigation Department neglected over this which caused the tragedy, Nete pointed out.

Mr. Nete demanded that the financial assistance be given to the families of the deceased youths and offence under culpable homicide be registered against the persons involved in security of the Barrage.

Mr. Prakash Gedam, General Secretary of BJP ST Morcha, Swapnil Warghante, State member of BJP, Ashish Pipre, councillor, Sanjay Pandilwar, Shrawan Sontakke, Ashok Dhodre, Naresh Alsawar, Sopan Naitam and other workers were present during the visit.
