Gadchiroli May 3 (District correspondent) International Labor Day and Maharashtra Day program was organized by Surajgad Area Gotul Samiti and Damkondavahi Bachao Andolan Samiti at village Todgatta in Etapalli taluka on Monday.

Adv. Lalsu Nogoti, Sainu Gota,  tribal leaders and former ZP councillors, Ramesh Kawdo, Nitin Pada, Koturam Potavi, Poonam Jetty, Shila Gota, Rakesh Alam, Dinesh Wadde, Kanna Gota, Prabhu Hichami, Sainu Hichami were prominently present as the speakers.

Many cultural programmes were presented by the tribal youths in this meet. At the beginning of the program, the portraits of Birsa Munda, Veer Baburao Shedmake, Mahatma Phule, Savitribai Phule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar were garlanded and the seven-coloured tribal flag was hoisted. The Preamble of the Indian Constitution translated into Madiya Gondi language was also read out to mark the beginning of the programme.

Many important resolutions were passed in the meet after prolonged discussion. They included give work to every able-bodied person. In case of not being able to provide work, give unemployment allowance of at least Rs 10,000 per month, Create labour law and its related framework in rural areas, implement the system of overtime with double rate, ESI, PF, dearness allowance, compensation for accidents at workplace to rural and industrial laborers, make arrangements for clean water, air circulation, clean toilets and safety equipment in factories, give the status of permanent laborers to the laborers who work for a fixed time, cancel all the four labour laws, restore old pension, stop selling public departments to private companies, the operators kept in the category of semi-skilled laborers should be given the category of skilled laborers.

The resolutions also included give employee status to Asha-Anganwadi-Shikshan Sevak and other scheme workers, abolish contracts system in all type of regular work, free public health care should be guaranteed by the government, make the level of education equal and free from primary to higher education, onfiscate all vacant private apartments, flats and houses and arrange them for housing for the working people, stop inflation and black marketing, effective system of rationing under public distribution system and subsidized government ration shops should be opened in every area, withdraw  anti-farmer laws, give legal guarantee on MSP, cancel additional 6 mines on Surajgad hill in Gadalchiroli district.

The work of constructing roads and culverts between Gatta-Todgatta going on at various places without the permission of the Gram Sabha be cancelled because they are being done only to loot the forest wealth. Police stations set up at Mauja Gardewada and Todgatta be cancelled immediately as they are being raised for the protection of the capitalists, mobile towers constructed without the permission of the Gram Sabha should stop immediately.

Thousands of women, men, gram sabha workers, students and people of tribal community in the area were present in this program.
