Gadchiroli May 20 (District Correspondent) A school teacher was killed in an accident at Allapalli town in Aheri taluka this afternoon.
Wasudeo Kulmethe (49) is the name of the deceased teacher who was a resident of village Gomni in Mulchera taluka and was working as a teacher with a private school of village Dewalmari in Aheri taluka.
According to reports, Mr. Kulmethe was going on his two-wheeler to a bank situated on Chandrapur road at around 2.30 pm when a speeding truck dashed him from behind in which he was killed on the spot. The truck was loaded with iron ore of the Surjagad Project.
On seeing the accidents, the people nearby rushed to the spot and caught hold of the truck driver and later on handed him over to the police who reached the spot after the accident. A few days back, a 12-year-old girl was also killed in the truck accident at Ashti on Allapalli-Chandrapur road. Police are investigating further into the matter.
The people of the area are quite discontented over the growing incidents of road accidents and the bad condition of roads being caused by the Surjagad transportation vehicles.
