Gadchiroli June 2 (District Correspondent) Raje ambrishrao atram, former Minister of State has generously donated an amount of Rs. 50,000 to the villagers of Garkapetha in Sironcha taluka for raising a statue of Bharat Ratna Dr.  Babasaheb Ambedkar in the village.

The villagers wanted to raise a life size statue of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India but they could not gather the required amount of money for this and were in dire need of financial assistance. When this matter came to the attention of Raje Ambrishrao of the Aheri Estate, he handed over the sum of Rs. fifty thousand to the villagers by inviting them to his palace at Aheri.

The Raje appreciated the initiative of the villagers and said today, it is very necessary to spread the thoughts and ideology of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s among the society. The statue will become a focal point of inspiration for the people of the area, he hoped.

When we mention the name of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, it creates a positive energy in our body and today’s young generation need to understand the personality of this great leader, said Raje Ambrishrao while speaking on the occasion. He called upon the villagers to inculcate the thoughts of Babasaheb Ambedkar in the society and to make progress and also shine the name of the district.

Former Sarpanch Somayya Durgam, Ravi Durgam, Rajkumar Jadi, Sudhakar Kummari, Kola Veladi, Rajashekar Durgam, Kiran Durgam, Shravan Durgam and Garkapetha villagers and youth were present on the occasion.
