Gadchiroli Sept. 12 (District Correspondent) The students of Platinum jubilee high School and Jr. College here distributed clothes among the new born babies in the district women and child hospital here to mark the festival of ‘Shrikrishna Janmashthami’ the other day.
The students visited the hospital along with their teachers and distributed the clothes to the mothers of the babies.
The school has been observing the ‘Joy of giving’ week in the school under which various social utility activities are being organized. As a part of this week and Janmashthami, the school had organized this unique programme.
The entire premises of the school was also decorated by the students to mark the occasion. They had come to the school in colourful traditional Radha Krishna costumes. They had also collected sweets from their homes and distributed those to understand the value of sharing. The sweets were then distributed among the students and teachers. Various cultural programmes based on the life of Lord Krishna were also presented by the students.
The principal of the school Ms. Anaita Charles told about the importance of Janmashthami asking the students to always adopt the path of truth and continue their work without waiting for the results. Earlier a ‘Raksha Bandhan programme was also organized in the school. The students themselves made the rakhis and participated in activities like gift wrapping, dish decoration etc.
Head Boy Deepak Partani and other members of the Social Welfare Club Aditi, Kaweri, Soham, Sarthak, chaitrali, Arjun, Amey along with teachers Sharmila Lakhani and others helped the students in these events. Mr. Karim Lakhani, joint Secretary of the school has sponsored the sweets and refreshment for this programme.
Mr. Aziz Nathani, Secretary of the school appreciated the students and teachers for their venture and extended his best wishes.
