The drums and other material being burnt down

Gadchiroli April 10 (District correspondent) A liquor den with as many as 16 drums of rotten Mahua flowers used for brewing mahua liquor were destroyed in Ranbhumi -Jambhli forest area near here recently by the Muktipath workers and the police. Due to this action, liquor sellers have suffered huge losses.

The muktipath workers received a secret information that alcohol was being filtered by setting up liquor dens in the Ranbhumi-Jambli forest area. On the basis of this information, police department and Gadchiroli Muktipath taluka team conducted a search operation in the forest between Ranbhumi and Jambhli villages. During this search, 16 drums of mahua flowers, known as mohafula, worth lakhs of rupees were found which were dumped at various places for distilling liquor.

All these drums filled with rotten mahua flowers (sadwa) were destroyed along with the entire material of making the liquor. This action was taken by Police Constable Shivdas Durge, Muktipath Taluka Organizer Amol Vakudkar, Deputy Organizer Revanath Meshram under the guidance of Police Station Incharge Arvindkumar Katlam.
