Gadchiroli Feb. 29 (District Correspondent) Maharashtra Director General of Police Ms. Rashmi Shukla visited highly sensitive police post Mannerajaram on the background of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. She held a stand-to drill of the jawans at Mannerajaram and after inspecting the post’s operations, interacted with the officers and officials present as well as children and civilians. She boosted the morale of the jawans by having breakfast with the jawans of the post.

Ms. Shukla then addressed the Krishi Melawa organized by the Police under its Dadalora Khidki programme at Bhamragarh. Commissioner of State Intelligence Shirish Jain, Special Inspector General of Police, Anti-Naxal Campaign Sandip Patil, Dy. Inspector General of Police Ankit Goyal were also present.

The citizens were distributed the saplings of various fruit trees like mango, chikku, sitafal, fanas, lemon etc. and also agricultural implements like agricultural spray pumps, ghamelas etc. in the rally.

While interacting with the citizens present on this occasion, Ms. Shukla said that the farmers and other people of Gadchiroli district should make their economic progress by using various technologies and raise their standard of living by taking advantage of various activities of Gadchiroli Police Force. Also, development of Gadchiroli district should be done by cooperating with the police force without falling victim to false movement of Maoists, she appealed.

The women of the village should acquire knowledge through agricultural tours and contribute in the agricultural work to bring economic development to themselves and their families, she said.

The 12 Agriculture Tour of the farmers was flagged off by Ms. Shukla on the occasion. The tour has been organized to enable the farmers to learn modern farming using various methods, visit farmer’s dams and use that knowledge to change the traditional farming system. A total of 45 women from Etapalli, Hedri and Bhamragarh are participating in the tour. Ms. Shukla extended her best wishes to the participating farmers.

Superintendent of Police Nilotpal, Central Reserve Police Force 191 Bn. Commandant M. S. Khobragade, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Kumar Chinta Sa., Hon. Additional SP (Campaign) Yatish Deshmukh, Sub Divisional Police Officer Bhamragarh Mr. Amar Mohite were also present.
