1,500 students given books on Dr. Namdeo Kirsan’s bithday.

GadchiroliJuly 15 (District Correspondent) On the occasion of the birthday of Dr. Namdev Kirsan, General Secretary of the State Congress Committee as many as 1,500 young students were distributed competitive examination preparation (MPSC) books in a grand programme that was held at Sanskriti Sabhagriha here on Friday.

A huge crowd of not only the aspiring students but also the ground level Congress workers and supporters had gathered at the programme to extend their best wishes to the senior Congress leader who is also one of the strong contenders of the Mahavikas Aghadi for the Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency.

Former education minister Vasant Purke, MLCs Abhijit Vanjari, Sudhakar Adbale, former MP Marotrao Kowase, former MLAs Anandrao Gedam, Pentaram Talandi, General Secretary of MPCC Dr. Nitin Kodwate, district president Mahendra Brahmanwade, former DCC chief Prakash Itankar were prominently present for this program as the chief guests.

At the outset Dr. Kirsan was accorded grand felicitation by the Congress workers by offering him shawl and bouquet at the hands of the senior leaders.

Expressing his feelings on this occasion, former minister Prof. Purke said students from the tribal district of Gadchiroli should prepare for the competitive exams and achieve the IAS, IPS cadres. He called upon the students to prepare with determination, self-confidence and success will surely come. There is no dearth of talent in the tribal region and the yourhs from this district will certainly achieve success, he hoped.

Dr. Kirsan, while making an introductory speech, expressed his belief that the youths of this tribal area should get the job opportunities through the competitive examination and that is why the books with updated general knowledge information have been provided which would be beneficial for them to prepare for it.

Mr. Marotrao Kowase, Vanjari, Adbale also guided the youths and party workers on this occasion. They appreciated the initiative of books distribution and extended their best wishes to Dr. Kirsan for his political career describing him to be a grassroot party soldier always working for the people.

Congress functionaries and workers from all over the district who had gathered in large numbers also felicitated Dr. Kirsan. The workers of various social organizations and political parties including Vijay Goradwar, Prof. Sheshrao Yelekar, Hansraj Undirwade, Ramesh chaudhari, Bharat Yerme, Abdulbhai Panjwani, Dadaji Chudhri, Madhao Gawad also felicitated Dr. Kirsan during the programme. The program was moderated by Mr. Sunil Chadgulwar and the vote of thanks was given by Satish Vidhate.
