Gadchiroli Feb. 22 (District Correspondent) Shiv Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated at Samidha college of Social Services here the other day with a great enthusiasm.
Mr. Sushant Raut presided over the programme while Mr. Tilesh Mohurle, Officiating Principal, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Prof. Pritam Kohpare were prominently present as the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Gohne threw light on the life and work of Shivaji Maharaj and described him as a great Maratha King who worked for the betterment of people.
Prof. Mohurle appealed the students to take inspiration from the life of Shivaji Maharaj and develop their career with proper planning and discipline. Prof. Gohne also asked the students to emulate the qualities of the great warrior and achieve success in life by hard work and dedication.
Mr. Sushant Raut said Shivaji Maharaj always treated his subjects with respect and equality. His thoughts are useful for the society and students should follow them to become successful.
Ms. Chayna Bhoyar conducted the programme and Sharvari Randiwe proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of students, teachers and staff members attended the programme.
