Gadchiroli April 28 (District Correspondent) Under the joint auspices of the Buddhist Society of India (Bharatiya Bauddha Mahasabha) and various social organizations of the city, a grand Buddha Jayanti celebration has been organized on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at the Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium located at Indira Gandhi Chowk in Gadchiroli.
Dr. Nikhil Sanjay Rekha Adsule—a Buddhist thinker and Senior Research Fellow at IIT Delhi—and Dr. Shilpa Athavale from Gondwana University will attend the event as the keynote speakers and guides. Ven. Bhante Buddhajyoti Sthavir will lead the Buddha Vandana and deliver a Dhamma Desana (discourse), while Mr. Tularam Raut, the District President of the Bauddha Mahasabha, will preside over the program. Additionally, dance performances based on the life of Lord Buddha will be presented during the event.
The Bharatiya Bauddha Mahasabha—along with various social organizations, Buddha Vihara committees, and associations of Buddhist officers and employees in Gadchiroli city—has issued an appeal to all citizens to attend this program in large numbers.
