Gadchiroli June 30 (District Correspondent) The Congress Party workers staged ‘Rasta Roko’ agitation this afternoon at village Subhash Nagar on Ashti- Allapalli Roadin Aheri taluka to press the demand regular school bus for the students of the area to attend their schools.

A large number of Congress workers assembled at the main road of the village and blocked the road due to which traffic was disturbed for some time. The workers shouted slogans in support of their demand and strongly demanded that the bus service be started immediately.

It was only after the government officers including Tehsildar Faruq Sheikh, Police Inspector Kishor Manbhav, Depot. Manager Jitendra Rajvaidya visited the agitation site and assured the workers to start the regular bus from Monday onwards that the agitation was withdrawn.

However, Mr. Bramhanwade, District Congress President  warned to launch the agitation again if the bus service is not started as assured.

The school session has already started from June 30. The BJP government just gives the hollow slogans of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ but no facilities are made available for the same girls for their education, alleged Mr. Bramhanwade while speaking on the occasion.

Due to heavy traffic in Surjagad Project, Ashti -Allapalli highway has badly damaged, ST buses of Maharashtra government have been completely stopped on the said highway. Therefore, the students traveling by bus and bicycles are suffering due to the bad condition of the road. Due to this, the students are suffering huge educational losses and dissatisfaction has arisen among the students and parents, he pointed out.

Gondwana University was established during the Congress rule to raise the level of education in the district. Her Excellency the President of India is coming to the district for the convocation ceremony of this university. The state government and administration machinary has started working for this tour and it is negligent towards the people’s issues, it was alleged.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress General Secretary Dr. Namdev Kirsan, Taluka President Dr. Nisar Hakim, Congress Leader Harbaji More, Youth Congress Taluka President Razak Pathan, Vice President Raghoba Gaurkar, Tribal Cell Taluk President Madhukar Shedmek, Kisan Cell Taluk President Namdev Atram, Minority Taluka President Hanif Shaikh, Ganesh Uppalwar, Rupesh Bandela, Dinkar Hulke,  Babytai Kuttarmare and hundreds of students, parents, women and Congress workers participated in the agitation.
