Gadchiroli Dec. 21 (District Correspondent) The annual function of the Carmel High School was celebrated by the school recently with a grand enthusiasm and fervour on the completion of 30 years of the school.
The programme was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Dhanaji Patil, Additional Collector. Fr. Dr. Benni, President of CMI presided over the programme while Mr. Rajkumar Nikam, Education Officer (secondary), Rev. Fr. Sabastian Thattil, Fr. Jinesh Matthew, Principal of the school, Sr. Nancy, Vice Principal, Ajay Thakre, Chairman of Parents-Teachers Association were the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Patil said that cultural programmes have immense importance in student’s life because they provide the platform to the students to present their inner skill and art. Students should not keep themselves limited up to books but should involve in other activities also to develop their personality, he advised.
Mr. Nikam in his speech appreciated the efforts being made by the Carmel School, its Principal Fr. Jinesh Matthew and other staff for the overall development of the school and the students by imparting them quality education. The school has been trying to bring the dreams of the students into reality, he stated.
Fr. Thattil talked about last 30 years glorious history of the school and said the school has produced talented students and they have been working all over the country and abroad too very successfully.
Fr. Matthew informed in his introductory speech that the school performed well even during the corona period by arranging online classes and gave a message to the students not to lose their courage. The students of the school always perform well in cultural and sports events, besides education, he told.
All the guests were felicitated on the occasion by presenting them bouquets and shawls. As many as 10 school employees who have been regularly serving for the last 30 years were also felicitated by giving them cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 each and certificates at the hands of the guests for their selfless services. All the teachers and non-teaching staff of the school was also honoured on the occasion.
Ms. Shubhangi Meshram conducted the programme and Sargam Telse proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of students, teachers and parents attended the programme.
