Gadchiroli April 28 (District Correspondent) Mr. Amrut Bang, Co-director of well-known social organization SEARCH has been appointed as the expert member of the Maharashtra Government’s Steering Committee of the New Education Policy.
Mr. Ajit Bawaskar, Dy. Secretary of the Ministry of higher and Technical Education, government of Maharashtra has issued an order in this regard recently.
Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, former vice chancellor of the Savitribai Phuley Pune University is the Chairman of the 14-member committee. Mr. Vivek Sawant of the MKCL and Prof. Yugank Goel of the FLAME University, Pune are the other two expert members of this committee.
This appointment has been made according to the recommendations of the sub -committee constituted under the New Education Policy. The committee will take the review, will solve the problems and suggest the measures for the implementation of the New Education Policy.
Mr. Amrit Bang has been actively associated with the SEARCH for the last several years and is involved in its various activities. He is the Programme Director of the innovative initiative for the youths of the country-‘NIRMAN’. He has studied at University of Pennsylvania an has also done Computer Engineering at PICT, Pune. He is also associated with Maharashtra Knowledge corporation Ltd. (MKCL), govt. of Maharashtra’s venture.
