Students take out rally, vow to make the village liquor free.

Gadchiroli Oct. 29 (District Correspondent) As many as 560 school students took out a rally at the village Kasansur in Etapalli taluka and took an oath to make the village tobacco free. The programme was organized by Muktipath, a social organization headed by Dr. Abhay Bang that has been working for making the district liquor and tobacco free.

A village organization meeting was held during the visit, which is situated in a remote area. Health education was given to lactating mothers and pregnant mothers at Anganwadi. A meeting was held at the police station and discussions were held on non-violent action against liquor sellers in the area.

The students of Government Ashram School, Eklavya School, Zilla Parishad School in the village were guided about the harmful effects of alcohol and tobacco. After that, 560 students took out a public awareness rally in the village and appealed to the villagers to stay away from alcohol and tobacco addiction.

Sarpanch Kamaltai Thakre, Police Patil Raiji Madavi, Medical Officer Dr. Kotwar, Headmaster S. T. Kawle, R. M. Bhalavi from Eklavya School, Prof. Dr. Bhaskar Madankar, Anganwadi worker Manishatai Yenngantiwar, ASHA worker Manishatai Gawde, health worker K. N. Governor, along with members of the village organization worked for the success of this rally.
