Chandrapur Feb. 26 (District Correspondent) Well known social workers and environment expert Dr. Sangeeta Todmal has said that it is the need of the hour to re-remember the schemes of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s time.

On the occasion of Shiv Jayanti, an online lecture of Dr. Sangeeta Todmal was organized by Charlotte Marathi Mandal in the United States of America on the topic of ‘Shivarai and environment during His time’. Speaking on this occasion, she said that it is the need of the hour to reconsider the plans of Shivaji Maharaj’s time and work for the sustainable development. Shivaji Maharaj had protected the environment even during that time, she reminded.

Dr. Sangeeta Todmal – Ingulkar is originally from Umbraj in Satara district and is an environmental researcher. She has started environmental movement by participating with many social organizations in the United States. In Maharashtra and other states outside Maharashtra, she is working to create an awareness of environment conservation by giving lectures on environment in schools, colleges and different social organizations.

On this occasion, Shiv lovers from all over the world participated online to watch this program, only to preserve our heritage and to make the next generation understand the importance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Also, various festivals like Ganesh festival, Holi, Diwali, Dussehra are organized through this Marathi Mandal.

Various social activities are also taken up through this Marathi Mandal. Poor and needy children in India are also financially supported by the social organization. They also donated food this year in America.

A traditional Dhol Tasha squad was formed this year under the planning of Mahesh Bhor in which men, women and children also participated to celebrate the program. Mr.  Nilesh Ingulkar thanked all the people. The members of the Mandal took pains for the success of the programme.
