Gadchiroli Feb. 4 (District Correspondent) The one act play on superstition elimination was staged by the workers of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) recently at the ‘Krishi Mahotsava’ held on the grounds of Agriculture College here.

Padmashri Dr. Parashuram Khune, Social worker Wamanrao Savasakde, Manohar Hepat, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Basavaraj Mastoli, Dr. Pravin Gedam, Scientist, BSMTC, Bhandara, Ms. Nilima Patil, Home Science Specialist, Naresh Budhewar, Ajay Vasnik, District Silk Officer, Gadchiroli, were prominently present.

The Department of Agriculture had organized this festival jointly with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Rural Livelihood Mission, MAVIM and NABARD.

Almost all the prominent office bearers of MANS including Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, State Executive Member of MANS, Vitthalrao Kothare, District Working President, Prof. Vilas Parkhe, Principal Secretary, Upendra Rohankar, Haridas Kotarange, Ms.  Pratibhatai Choudhari performed the roles in this one-act play and gave the message of eradicating superstition.

The play evoked tremendous response from the audience. The screenplay was written in the local Zadipatti language which made it more attractive and reached to the hearts of the people. How the fake babas cheat the people taking undue advantage of their blind faith was the main theme of this play.

All the artists were honored by the agriculture department by giving them bouquets at the end of the play. A large number of people, mostly the farmers and citizens of Gadchiroli attended this play.

District President of the MANS Rohidas Raut visited the pandal of the show and congratulated the workers on their performance.
