Gadchiroli Oct. 4 (District correspondent) Lloyds Infinite Foundation, Surjagad Iron Mine had organized a health camp at village Hedri in Etapalli taluka recently to mark the ‘World Heart Day’.

The expert doctors examined the patients who had assembled from the nearby remote and tribal villages and also explained them about the symptoms of heart disease and how to diagnose it. They also told how to take care of one’s health by maintaining cleanliness in the area.

More than 150 patients were examined and treated in this camp. Bus facilities were provided by Lloyd’s Infinite Foundation so that the patients do not have any difficulty in travelling to the site of camp.

Inauguration of the camp and lighting of the lamp was done by Mr. Bapurao Dadas, SDPO, Hedri. Medical Head of Lloyds Metals Dr. Gopal Roy, Dr. Chetan Burriwar, Medicine Specialist, Ms. Saguna Sadmek, Sarpanch of Village Pursalgondi, Mr. Rakesh Kavdo, Deputy Sarpanch Village Pursalgondi, Mr. Saurav Kavdo, Police Patil Hedri, Katia Telami, former Deputy Sarpanch, Mr. Sanjay Changlani were prominently present.

The patients and villagers of the Gram Panchayat area and Lloyds Infinite Foundation Surjagad iron ore mine officials were present in the said camp.

World Heart Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases and to promote strategies to reduce the global impact of these diseases. The main objective of World Heart Day is to make people aware about heart health, it was informed on the occasion.

World Heart Day plays an important role in creating awareness among people about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). It also points to the dangers associated with tobacco use, poor eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle, which contribute to an estimated 80 percent of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke. Above all, the World Heart Federation (WHF) promotes the concept of a heart-healthy lifestyle as a basic human right and supports its adoption worldwide, it was further informed.
