Gadchiroli Oct. 4 (District correspondent) Shiv Phule Shahu Ambedkar Public Library was inaugurated at village Navegaon (Mal) in Chamorshi taluka at the hands of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Dr. Namdev Kirsan the other day.

Mr. Charandas Choudhary, Dy. Sarpanch presided over the programme and District Youth Award winner Anup Kohle was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kirsan said that library is a great tool for acquiring knowledge and it is necessary for the youth to get into the habit of reading and writing. The youths should do valuable work for the development of the society by acquiring maximum knowledge.

Speaking further, he said that in today’s modern era, the habit of reading and writing is disappearing due to mobile phones. It is therefore necessary to inculcate the habit of reading among the youth through public libraries, he added. It is also a great tool for youth to prepare for competitive exams.

The privatization of public enterprises adopted by the government, the method of filling the posts of IAS through lateral entry, the policy of filling the government jobs through contract method is dangerous for the coming generation, Dr. Kirsan pointed out. It is seen that the government has made up its mind to end the government jobs and reservation for SC ST OBCs indirectly. Therefore, the coming generation needs to be careful, he warned.

Mr. Kohle said the youths have set an ideal by creating a library. The time to come is a fierce competition and if we want to survive in this competition, various guidance camps and other social activities should be organized regularly, he suggested.  The library will be useful for the all-round development of every person, he hoped.

Also present on the occasion were Mr. Ravindra Wadgure, Supriya Dhudse, Somalta Chaudhary, Vimal Boliwar, Jyoti Daiki, Police Patil Kavita Ramteke, Pramod Dupate, Ex-Sarpanch Sunil Kohpare, Devanand Durge, Health Nurse Asha Gonde, Nakatuji Bhiwankar and other villagers.
