Gadchiroli Oct. 1 (City Reporter) Alleging that the death of Ms. Tajas Bhajgawli occurred due to the negligence of the Krasna Diognastic Center Shastrinagar Hospital of Dombiwali, Mumbai, the family members have demanded a stringent action against the erring doctors and the technician in these institutes by registering a case of culpable homicide against them.

Addressing a press conference at the Press club here this afternoon, Dr. Pranali Bhajgawli, the elder sister of Tejas, who is herself a Medical Officer in Pune district, told that Tejas had gone to Krasna Lab for conducting CT scan on the advice of the doctors in J. J. hospital, Mumbai as she has been suffering from head ace on Sept. 26 last.

The technician in the Krasna Lab administered contrast dye to her and conducted her CT scan in absence of the authorised Radiologist of the Lab. Soon after that Tejas started getting reaction of the dye as her body started swelling up and feeling uneasy. She even narrated it to the Lab staff. She also told about the problem of body reaction to her friend on phone.

The Lab officials, however did not take the situation seriously and did gave any treatment to resolve the reaction issue. In the meanwhile, Tejas fell unconscious and collapsed. Only after this, the Lab staff shifted her to the Shastrinagar Hospital but she died. It was only because of the gross negligence on the part of the Lab technician, and the doctors at the Shastrinagar Hospital that she had to lose her precious life, Dr. Pranali alleged.

Had Tajas been given anti reaction treatment within time, she would have saved, she claimed holding the Lab technician and doctors at the Shastrinagar hospital solely responsible for the death of her sister.

The case papers in the Shastrinagar Hospital have been manipulated by the doctors, there are many contradictions, over writings, in the case paper noting and the ECG report which clearly indicates that the hospital authorities have tried to hush up the case. It is a very serious matter which needs to be investigated thoroughly, alleged Dr. Pranali.

She demanded that a case of culpable homicide be registered against the Lab technician and doctors at Shastrinagar Hospital. Tejas was a brilliant girl. She had done Technician’s course from the J. J. Hospital and was the university topper. She had a bright future ahead but had to lose her life in the very young age due to the negligent attitude of the hospital and lab, said Dr. Pranali.

Also present at the press conference were Mr. Bhasuraj Bhajgawli, father, Ms. Wanmala Bhajgawli, mother, Sneha, sister, Sanket, brother and relatives Dhanraj Bhosle, Dr. Rupali Bhosle, Abaji Shimpi, Madhwi Sharma.
