India’s first ever Adiwasi Mahila Sahitya Sammelan to be held in Gadchiroli.

Gadchiroli March 6 (District Correspondent) The Adiwasi Mahila Sahitya Sammelan has been organized at Gadchiroli on April 15 and 16 next. This Sammelan is the first of its kind in India and Gadchiroli district is getting the honour of hosting this historical event.

A meeting to chalk out the planning and preparations of this Sammelan was held at Parishram Bhavan here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Mr. Surajbhau Sayam, Chairman, Krantiveer Narayan Singh Uike Smarak Samiti. Ms. Kusum Alam, noted poetess, Prof. Wamanrao Shedmake, tribal litterateur, Mr. Rohidas Raut, senior journalist, Mr. Pushpalta Kumre, Retired Tehsildar, Madan Madavi Tribal leader were prominently present.

The action committee of the Sahitya Sammelan was formed in this meeting with Ms. Kusum Alam as the Chief convenor. At the outset, Ms. Alam outlined the objective and concept of the Sahitya Sammelan and hoped it would provide an opportunity to the people of the district to listen to the well-known personalities in the field of tribal history, culture and research. It would also provide a platform to the neo litterateurs in the region.

Mr. Piteshwar Yerme Bramhapuri, Manohar Rao Hepat, Vilas Nimborkar, Bramhanand Madavi, Mangala Kulsange, Smitatai Gedam, Rekhatai Shedmake, Malta Pudo, Moreshwar Uike, Mr. Ashok Mandade, Mr. Hansraj Undirwade, Pradeep Bhaisare, Vaibhav Kusnak, Sonu Alam and other dignitaries were also present in the meeting. Kusum Tai Alam introduced the program, Sanchalan Maroti Arewar, and Moreshwar Uike gave the vote of thanks.

Literary scholars, researchers and literature lovers from many states have eyes on this women’s literary conference, which is being held for the first time in India.

Well-known writer Dr. Streamlet Dakhar from Meghalaya will be the President of this Sammelan. It will be inaugurated at the hands of well-known author and social activist Najubai Gavit from Dhule. The former president of the United Nations Indigenous Peoples Forum Fulman Choudhary, Chief of the United Nations Department of Languages ​​Mr. Benjamin Bora, author of Jaipal Singh Munda book and retired officer Rupchand Verma, Mamata Kujur from Chhattisgarh, well-known Santhali poetess Nirmala Putul, Dr. Hira Meena from Rajasthan, Vahru Sonwane have been invited as the chief speakers for this Sammelan. The dignitaries from various fields, writers, scholars, students are going to attend it. Literary meet is going to be historic.
