Gondwana University will carry forward Tukdoji Maharaj’s work- VC Dr. Bokare.

Gadchiroli Oct. 20 (District Correspondent) Dr. Prashant Bokare, Vice-Chancellor of Gondwana University has asserted that the University will make necessary efforts to take forward the task of village development envisioned by well-known saint and social reformer Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj.

He was speaking at the 54th death anniversary of Tukdoji Maharaj organized by the district branch of Gurudev Seva Mandal here the other day.

The programme was presided over by noted social worker Dr. Devaji  Tofa while social worker Ravindraji Bhusari, District Head of Gurudeo Seva Mandal Dr. Shivnath Kumbhare, senior office bearers Arvind Patil Wasekar, Pandit Pudke,  Bandopant Bodhekar were prominently present as the chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Bokare said, Gondwana University is a people’s university. The Institute is trying to make the people feel that this university is theirs. Tukdoji Maharaj gave importance to village development, he mentioned and assured that the concept of ​​village development as mentioned by the Rashtrasanta will definitely be carried forward through the university.

Dr. Bokare was felicitated on the occasion by the office bearers of the Gurudeo Sewa Mandal by presenting him shawl and bouqet.

Mr. Bhusari said the initiation of Rashtrasant Adhyasan in Gondwana University is a revolutionary step and the Gondwana University should be praised for this. Dr. Tofa highlighted the importance of Gram Sabha empowerment on the occasion.

On the concluding day meditation was presented by Bandopant Bodhekar. After that Gram Gita reading was done by Zarkar Maharaj.  Snehgangashree Shringare of Amravati presented an enlightening kirtan on the importance of Gopal Kala.   Keshavrao Dashmukhe, Dilip Meshram, Ravindra Wasekar, Vijay Dhakate, Pramod Vaidya, Mrs. Vandana Munghate, Sandeep Katkurwar were the chief attendees.

This annual programme began with the pooja of the Samadhi of Tukdoji Maharaj at the hands of Principal Rajabhau Munghate. He emphasized that the humanitarian ideas of the national saints should be propagated from village to village.

Throughout this week, speeches on community prayer were delivered by Mr. Sukhdev Vethe, Shankar Gurnule, Chetan Thackeray, Anil Dhait, Anil Dhatrak and Amol Kankawar. Mr. Suresh Mandwagde, Nanaji Wadhai, Atmaram Amborkar, Damji Naitam, Marotarav Uike, Ghanshyam Jengthe, Pandurang Ghotekar, Manohar Hepat, Srikant Dhote, Prof. Bhaskar Narule, Purushottam Kulmethe, Bhaskar Urade were mainly present
