Gadchiroli Feb. 9 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli MLA Dr. Deorao Holi has demanded due reservation to the candidates of the Scheduled Tribes category in the recruitment of the Gondwana University.

Dr. Holi met M. Chandrakant Dada Patil, Minister for higher and Technical Education in Mumbai recently and submitted him a memorandum in this regard.

The Gondwana University is recruiting as many as 30 Assistant Professors for the different subjects and an advertisement for this has already been published in the newspapers. However, not a single post has been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes candidates in this advertisement which is matter of surprise, pointed out Dr. Holi in the memorandum.

The district of Gadchiroli is tribal dominated and there is a need of recruiting the tribal candidates in the University. The participation of the tribal youths will benefit both the district and the university in its further development. The students of the area also will be benefited, the MLA has further said.

The University has done a great injustice with the tribals of the district by not giving them any representation in the teaching, Holi has said and demanded that adequate reservation must be given to the Scheduled Tribes candidates in this recruitment.
