Gadchiroli Dec. 20 (District correspondent) Since the guaranteed prices announced by the central government for the agriculture produces are very low, the state government should give bonus to the paddy growing farmers, demanded Dr. Namdeo Kirsan, General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

He raised this demand during his speech while inaugurating the drama show at village Bodalbodi the other day.   Dr. Kirsan said that the production cost of farmers has increased due to inflation and rising prices of the fertilizers, pesticides and other goods used for the farming. However, the guaranteed price of paddy announced by the central government is not enough to cover the production cost, hence the Maharashtra government should give bonus to the farmers.

The congress party has raised the issue with the state government during its ongoing legislative session at Nagpur, Dr. Kirsan pointed out. The BJP-led government is not serious about the problems of the farmers and it is not paying attention to the problems of the common people also, he criticised.

On this occasion, Mr. Sunil Hattimare, Mahesh Hattimare, Motilal Harinankhede, Mahendra Bahekar, Pannalal Patle, Dhanraj Shahre, Rakesh Hattimare, Anil Hattimare and a large number of workers were present.
