Gadchiroli Dec. 20 (District Correspondent) The Naxalites have burnt down three vehicles engaged in the road construction work near village Hiddur in Bhamragad taluka around 10 kilometres north of Bhamragad town last night. The incident came to light this morning which has spread a terror in the area.

According to police, the construction work of Hiddur- Dobur was being carried out by a private contractor for the past few days. As the vehicles were parked near the construction site after the day’s work, the Naxalites approached the site in the night and set two tractors and a JCB machine on fire. All the labourers had gone to sleep when the incident took place in the night.

The pamphlets were found on the spot of the arson in which citizens have been appealed to observe the ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Dec. 22 next. The pamphlets written in Hindi language have mentioned that the ‘Vikasit Bharat’ is hypocrisy.

The Naxalites had observed PLGA Week between Dec. 2 and 8 last during which they had killed some youths. Now they have burnt down the vehicles of the private contractor. The incident has spread an atmosphere of fear in the area.

An offence has been registered in this connection with the Bhamragad Police Station and further investigations are going on, told Mr. Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP.
