Gadchiroli April 1 (District correspondent) A drama show ‘Azad Hindchi Gatha’ was presented by the students of Govindrao Munghate College, Kurkheda recently as a part of ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ of Indian Independence.

To celebrate the Amrit Mahotsava more effectively, it was decided by the government that more than a thousand students, artists and dramatists of Maharashtra state will perform 75 plays in 75 places, 75 colleges, in 36 districts of the state on the same day and at the same time.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajabhau Munghate and presence of Vice Principal P. S. Khope.

It is a matter of great pride and honour that Shri Govindrao Munghate College of Arts and Sciences was selected from Gadchiroli district to participate in the play, said Dr. Munghate.  National Service Scheme Department and Cultural Department of the college participated in the play. To honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, to remember the contribution of great men in India’s freedom struggle, the successful progress of post-independence India was the objective of this play, he pointed out.

All living history of Independence was presented by the students through this theatre production. The students brought the image of Azad Hind alive to the audience by performing an excellent performance on the saga of freedom fighters in the pre-independence period of India and the progress of India in the post-independence period through this show.

To make the program successful, Head of NSS Department Dr. Gunwant Wadapalliwar, Assistant Dr. Rabindra Vikhar, Cultural Head Dr.Narendra Arekar and the volunteers of NSS provided valuable support.
