Arvind Saokar Poreddiwar selected for ‘Jeevan Gaurav’ award.

Gadchiroli Sept. 2 (District Correspondent) Mr. Arvind Saokar Poreddiwar, former Vice President of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank and Chairman of DCC Bank has been declared Late Vishnu Anna Patil Jeevan Gaurav award by Maharashtra State Banks Association, (MSBA) Mumbai.

The award will be presented to Mr. Poreddiwar at Nashik on Sept. 9 next at the hands of Dr. Bhagwat Karad, union minister of state for finance, former Minister for Railways suresh Prabhu and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pawar.

MSBA is the mother organization of all the district cooperative banksand other cooperative banks in the state. It honours the persons doing commendable work in cooperative filed every year. This year, Mr. Arvind Poreddiwar has been selected for this prestigious award.

Mr. Arvind Poreddiwar is a senior cooperative leader of the state. Besides the cooperative field, he has also done remarkable work in cultural, arts, agriculture, education, literature field also. He was also associated with the movement of the formation of Gadchiroli district. He is the first chairman of the Gadchiroli DCC Bank.

Mr. Poreddiwar succeeded in getting the status of Municipal council to Armori through a legal battle. He has a study over man animal conflict and has written articles on the subject for the public awareness. He is the pioneer of starting animal husbandry project at Wadsa by bringing cows and milching animals from Australiya. This project is still continuing in around 1,000 acres of land at Wadsa.

Mr. Poreddiwar has suggested a proposal to bring 26 villages in Binagunda area in the main stream and providing them health and transport facilities. He had organized the exhibition of the paintings drawn by Ms. Chhayatai Poreddiwar Poreddiwar family is keenly interested in stage art and Mr. Prakash Poreddiwar has been continuously working to encourage the stage shows. He formed a Natya Vinod Mandal at Gadchiroli. He was honoured by the Press Club Gadchiroli with Zilla Gaurav award.

Mr. Poreddiwar has written a book ‘Naval Awtarle’ on the life of the services of Baba Amte, Dr. Prakash Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte. Several workers in different fields and well-wishers of Mr. Poreddiwar have congratulated him on this award.
