Gadchiroli Aug. 28 (District Correspondent) The sub divisional Officer (SDO) of Aheri has proposed the action of suspending all the employees in his office except the Naib Tehsildar and a peon.

Quite a sensation has prevailed in the administrative circles here following this action which is perhaps the first such type of mass suspension in the entire state.

The SDO Vaibhav Waghmare, who is an Indian Administrative Officer and has been working as the Assistant Collector and the SDO, himself confirmed the action adding that the actual suspension orders will be issued by this night and will be submitted to the higher authorities for the approval. The officer however declined to give the names of the suspended officers and also the exact number of these officials citing the administrative reasons. The suspension orders were, however not issued till the filing of this report.

The officer has very recently joined as the Sub Divisional Officer of Aheri.

The SDO noticed many times that the officials of his office were inefficient in their work, negligent in duties, keeping the pendency of official works, not attending the duties on time, not committal towards the office work and many such discrepancies. These officials were issued show cause notices several times and their clarification was sought but neither their clarification was satisfactory nor their was any improvement in their behaviour and work, told Mr. Waghmare.

I was therefore left with no other option but to place these officials under suspension that is why I have proposed the action of their suspension except the two officials- the Naib Tehsildar and the peon of the office, told Mr. Waghmare to this correspondent. The actual suspension orders will be issued this evening itself and will be submitted for the approval to the higher officers, he added.

Similar action will be taken against the other officials under my jurisdiction if they are found negligent towards their duties, warned the officer further. This is the first action of mass suspension in the history of the district and quite a sensation has prevailed among the officials and the administrative circles in the district following this action.
