Adv. Vishwajeet Kowase and other Congress workers staging protest.

Gadchiroli My 28 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli District Congress Committee—under the leadership of District President Adv. Vishwajit Marotrao Kowase—staged a vigorous protest demonstration this afternoon against the continuously rising prices of petrol and diesel.

This was the first ever public agitation under the leadership of the newly appointed district Congress chief which evoked massive response from the party workers which indicates their trust in Kowase’s leadership.

The entire area reverberated with slogans such as, “Enough of the burden of inflation; oust the Modi government” and other such anti government slogans.  Speaking on the occasion Mr. Kowase launched a scathing attack on the Central Government’s policies, asserting that rising inflation has become a major crisis for the common people.

Over the past few days, petrol and diesel prices have been witnessing a continuous upward trend, directly impacting the lives of ordinary citizens, Kowase said adding that the hike in fuel prices has driven up transportation costs, consequently leading to an increase in the prices of essential commodities. The daily lives of citizens—who are already grappling with the burden of inflation—have become even more arduous, he stated and demanded that the prices of fuel and essential commodities be brought down.

Present at this protest in large numbers were Congress office-bearers, party workers, and citizens, including State General Secretary Pankaj Guddewar, Councilor Ramesh Chaudhary, former councilor Bandu Shanivare, Nandu Kayarkar, SC Cell President Rajnikant Motghare, Youth Congress District President Nitesh Rathod, Transport Cell’s Rupesh Tikle, Tribal Cell District President Madhavrao Gawal.
