
Gadchiroli April 17 (District Correspondent) The Bhimkanya Dholpathak Group, a newly formed organization of the Ambedkarite women paid tributes to Dr. Ambedkar in an innovative style at Indira Square of the city that attracted the attention of all the people and became a centre of attraction for the passers-by.
A band squad of around 50 well costumed women with white saris and blue head gears beat drums collectively in a planned and disciplined manner along with flying of blue flags at the tune of music that became the site of attraction and appreciation. The well decorated drums and the systematic beating of drums by the participant squad members filled the entire atmosphere with a joy and fervour and gave a new colour to the Jayanti celebrations.
Mr. Vijay Wadettiwar, Congress leader, Ashok Nete, former MP, Dr. Milind Narote, MLA, Mr. Rohidas Raut, senior Republican leader, Adv. Rambhau Meshram, former ZP councillor, Mahendra Bramhanwade, Congress district president, Gautam Meshram of Sanvidhan Foundation, Mr. Samayya Pasula, social worker, Leeladhar Bharadkar, chairman of municipal council, Adv. Kavita Mohorkar, Amol Kulmethe, youth leader visited the site and offered floral tributes to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and also extended their best wishes to the organizers of the event.
Within a limited time limit this event was prepared with the public donations with an objective of celebrating the Jayanti of Dr. Ambedkar in a different way, said Ms. Jyoti Undirwade.
Ms. Jyoti Undirwade, Vanita Bambode, Malatai Bhajgawli, Aparna Khewle, Pratibha Ramteke, Shilpa Sontakke and other women members of the Bhimkanya Group had successfully organized this programme which was attended by hundreds of people.
Ms. Pratibha Ramteke conducted the programme and Naren Undirwade proposed the vote of thanks.
