Gadchiroli Sept. 29 (District Correspondent) Dr. Pawan Naik NSS Program Officer of Kewalramji Harde College, Chamorshi affiliated to Gondwana University and Ms. Janhvi Peddiwar, volunteer from the same college have received the National Award of National Service Scheme (NSS) for the year 2021-22.

Gondwana University became the first university in the history of Maharashtra to receive two national awards of NSS simultaneously

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Department of National Service Scheme, Government of India gives the award for Outstanding Program Officer Award and Outstanding Volunteer Award.

Both Dr. Naik and Ms. Peddiwar were felicitated and honored at the hands of Her Excellency President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi today.

The work done by both of them towards the society has left an impression not only in Gadchiroli district but also in Maharashtra. Till date it has never happened in the history of Maharashtra that a program officer and a volunteer from the same university have received national level award.

One program officer and two NSS volunteers have been selected for the award across Maharashtra. Another volunteer is from a college in Aurangabad. The National Service Scheme Department of Gondwana University is being congratulated all over Maharashtra for the selection of Pawan Naik and Janvi Peddiwar at the national level.

Gondwana University Vice Chancellor Dr. Prashant Bokare, Pro VC Dr. Sriram Kawle, Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan have congratulated Program Officer Dr. Pawan Naik and Volunteer Janhvi Peddiwar and also NSS Director Dr. Shyam Khandare and the entire team of National Service Scheme Department of Gondwana University and have extended them best wishes.
