Gadchiroli Aug. 12 (District correspondent) A ‘Service Day’ was observed at Mahatma Gandhi Art, Science College, Armori under the guidance of Prin. Dr. Lalsingh Khalsa to mark the death anniversary of Kishorbhau Wanmali. On this occasion, programs like blood donation, health check-up camp and assistance to the disabled were organized.

At the outset, Mrs. Sunitatai Wanmali, President of the Sanstha, Deepak Behre, Namdevrao Sorte, Umakant Wanmali, Deepak Vanmali, Harishchandra Bondre, Mayur Vanmali, Dr. Mukhru Chikhram, Principal of the college Dr. Lal Singh Khalsa, Principal of Junior College Sainath Addalwar, Principal Prakash Pandhare, Prof. Shashikant Gedam were prominently present.

Earlier the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj, Wamanraoji Wanmali and Kishorbhau Wanmali were garlanded and silence was observed for two minutes to pay them respect.

The useful materials such as walking sticks, walkers, sewing machines, ration kits and blankets were distributed to the disabled on the occasion. A total of 25 persons with disabilities were distributed the said items.

The blood donation camp organized on this occasion which got a spontaneous response and 25 persons donated blood to pay the tributes to late Kishorebhau Wanmali. More than 90 persons participated in the health check-up camp and got their health checked including blood test. The health team of District Hospital Gadchiroli, Sub district Hospital Armori and the team of Mahalab helped for the blood test and health check-up camp.

Principal Dr. Lal Singh Khalsa made an introductory speech and explained the project. Dr. Vijay Raiwatkar conducted the programme and Prof. Shashikant Gedam proposed the vote of thanks.

For the success of the entire program, Vice Principal Dr. Chandrakant Dorlikar,  Dr. Gajendra Kadhav, NSS Head Prof. Satendra Sontakke, Dr. Seema Nagdeve, Prof. Mohan Ramteke, Dr. Vasantha Kahalkar, Dr. Vijay Gorde, Dr. Manoj Thawre, Prof. Gajanan Borkar, Prof. Sunanda Kumar, Prof. Anil Raut, Prof. Nikhit Borode, Prof. Kavita Khobragade, Prof. Pranali Garode,  Arpit Kharwade, Mr. Khushal Ramteke, Prashant Dadmal, Kishore Kuthe, non-teaching staff of Mahatma Gandhi College worked hard.
