Gadchiroli March 23 (District Correspondent) A unique marriage solemnized with a ‘Satyashodhak’ method with no any traditional rituals and pomp and show, has presently become a matter of appreciation and discussion in the city.

Ms. Puja, the daughter of Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti senior activist Vilas Nimborkar from Gadchiroli and Girish, the son of Tammewar, also an ANS worker from Ahmadpur in Latur district was the couple of this marriage that took place at Sumanand Sabhagriha of the city.

The families of both the groom and the bride agreed to solemnize the marriage in a Satyashodhak way and showed an ideal before the society. No baraat, no band, no any ritual, no any priest. Both the bride and the groom were administered an oath of living together and accepting each other as the husband and wife in the name of saints and social reformers, garlanded each other and the marriage was over.

Of course, hundreds of the relatives and friends from both the sides were present to witness the marriage and bless the couple. The marriage was followed by the meals.

Maharashtra Working President of ANS Madhaorao Bawge and State Principal Secretary Gajendra Surkar were prominently present for this marriage, besides the activists of ANS across the district. Mr. Bawge performed the proceedings of the marriage. This was the first ever marriage of this kind in the district except that of Mr. Amol Marakwar, a Communist Party worker from Armori that had taken place few years back.

There was a beeline of the people to congratulate the Nimorkar and Tammewar families for their courageous step. The marriage is being appreciated here.

Dr. Shiwnath Kumbhare, district President of Gurudeo Sewa Mandal said such ventures need a daring. Many people just talk about social change but don’t follow it practically by giving one excuse or the other, but Nimborkar is an exception to them, he said. The society should follow this experiment, he appealed.

Mr. Rohidas Raut, social worker said the marriage performed in the time when religious fanaticism is on the rise, gives certainly a new direction to the society. The courage shown by the two families is definitely unparallel. Its the venture that every segment of society needs to follow.

Maroti Dudhbawre, District President of Sambhaji Brigade said the Nimborkar and Tammewar families have set an ideal before the society by doing the marriage without any big bang or event. It’s a big challenge to organize such a marriage and these families have accepted it is really a matter of great appreciation, he stated.

Mr. Purushottam Thakre, District Principal Secretary of ANS said all the family members of both the bride and the groom must be saluted for this bold act. It is an example before the Bahujan society to save unwanted expenses and age old rituals that requires to be followed by one and all.

Mr. Upendra Rohankar said giving up the socio-religious bindings is not an easy thing, but the Nimborkar-Tammewar families have done it and they undoubtedly need to be patted. Such marriages are the need of the hour, he added.

Mr. Vitthalrao Kothare and Prof. Vilas Parkhi, senior office bearers of ANS also have congratulated the bride and groom and their families for this ‘revolutionary’ step and have extended them best wishes.
