Adv. Bodhi gets foreign scholarship of Rs. 45 lakhs for higher studies.

Gadchiroli March 22 (District Correspondent) Adv. Bodhi Ramteke, a young lawyer from Chamorshi in tribal Gadchiroli district, has been declared for the world renowned ‘Erasmus Mundus’ scholarship of Rs. 45 lakhs for his higher studies.

Bodhi is one among the 15 scholars who have been selected  selected from all over the world for this prestigious scholarship. Erasmus Mundus gives scholarship for high-level and integrated study programmes, at master level. They are designed and delivered by an international partnership of higher education institutions (HEI).

Bodhi will take higher education in England, Spain, Norway, Sweden for the next two years in the joint course of four renowned universities in the world. Bodhi’s social advocacy, ground level work is very inspiring.

After studying law at ILS Law College, Pune, Bodhi carried out legal activities across the state along with like-minded friends. Adv. Deepak Chatap, a young lawyer with a Chevening scholarship of the British government, Adv. Vaishnav Ingole and Adv. Bodhi founded PATH Foundation together. Through this Foundation, he is continuing the constructive work of solving the fundamental problems of the weaker sections of the society.

Bodhi worked on constitutional values ​​with ‘Samata Fellowship’ of Koro India Institute. The issue of fundamental rights of tribals in Gadchiroli district was raised with the State Human Rights Commission through the Foundation. He also filed a petition to seek health facilities to pregnant women. He presented research on the difficulties faced by indigenous communities at an international summer school in Egypt.

Bodhi and his friends wrote a letter to Chief Justice of High Court regarding  roads and bridges in remote villages. Through a public interest petition, a legal battle was fought to get a road and bridge to 1500 residents of the remote Venganur village of ​​Gadchiroli.

Recently his legal information book ‘Nyay’ became popular. Bodhi is currently working as a Legal Researcher at the Supreme Court in Delhi along with institutional work.
