Gadchiroli March 22 (District Correspondent) Humans have to face many crises like fire, flood, earthquake, epidemic, accident etc. unexpectedly causing immeasurable loss of lives and property. Even the government system is not enough to deal with these crises. In such cases, if the college students have awareness and know- how to deal with the problem, the students can help to overcome this crisis with a charitable attitude.

This was stated by Dr. Lalsingh Khalsa, Principal of Mahatma Gandhi Arts Science and Late Nasruddin Bhai Panjwani College of Commerce, Armori while addressing the camp on disaster management and personality development organized by the  Department of Sports and Physical Education of the college and the Gondwana University recently.

Dr. Khalsa further said that if the students understand the rules, customs, morals, discipline along with education, their life will be enriched and safe. Various skills, character, honesty, cooperative spirit, passion is also necessary, he added. Positive cultivation of good qualities can develop personality of students. The work in disaster management creates a sense of volunteerism in students. Students should cooperate with a sense of duty while helping the disaster victims.

Dr. Chandrakant Dorlikar, Director of Sports and Physical Education Department, Prof. Dr. Dnyaneshwar Thackeray, Mr. Mangesh Baitulkar, Fire Services Municipal Council, Gadchiroli, Prof. Gajanan Borkar, journalist and former sarpanch of Kasvi Mr. Praveen Rahate were prominently present.

Mr. Praveen Rahate recalled many incidents of disaster during his regime as a Sarpancha and journalist and asserted that if college students are aware of such extracurricular information, it can help save their own lives and the lives of others. Vice Principal of the college Dr. Chandrakant Dorlikar made an introductory speech, Prof. Gajanan Borkar conducted the programme and Prof. Dr. Dnyaneshwar Thackeray proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr. Chhagan Mungmode, Dr. Vasantha Kahalkar, Prof. Parag Meshram, Dr. Vijay Gorde, Dr. Manoj Thawre,  Dr. Gajendra Kadhav, Prof. Sneha Mohurle, Dr. Seema Nagdeve, Prof. Dilip Ghonmode, Prof. Pundalik Vyahadkar, Dr. Satish Kola, Prof. Kahale, Mr. Sachin Thackeray, Mr. Prashant Ganveer were also present besides a large number of students.
