Gadchiroli March 4 (District Correspondent) The women workers of shiv Sena (UBT) staged demonstrations at the local Indira Square to protest against the recent price rise in domestic gas cylinders.
Shiv Sena Mahila Aghadi District Organizer Chhayatai Kumbhare led the agitation in which large number of women activists participated. The women shouted slogans against the central government for this price rise and demanded early revocation of the prices.
A few years ago, during the Congress rule at the centre, gas cylinder was available for Rs. 350 only but BJP government has increased the price manyfold and has left the poor people to suffer. Now the people have to purchase the gas at Rs. 1100 which is a severe blow to the poor people, said Ms. Kumbhare while speaking on the occasion.
Due to the rising price of gas, many women Instead of cooking on gas, have started cooking on stoves by using fire wood but the government has nothing to do with it, said Ms. Kumbhare further and alleged that this govt. is purely anti poor. The life of women has become quite difficult due to price rise and they will teach the BJP a lesson, she warned.
