Gadchiroli Jan. 11 (District Correspondent) The Indian youth generation has made a name for itself in various fields around the world, but even today we need to make a lot of progress in sports. There are still a lot of opportunities in sports and they should make their careers through sports.
This was advised by District Collector Sanjay Meena to the girls of Ahilya Devi Children’s Home at Ghot in Chamorshi taluka while inaugurating the Chacha Nehru district level children’s festival and sports competition the other day.
Chacha Nehru Bal Mahotsav is organized in every district of the country to develop mutual respect, brotherhood, team spirit and to give scope to the talent among the students. As there is only one orphanage for girls in Gadchiroli district, girls from nearby schools were also given a chance in that competition.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Meena further said our children are given more emphasis for educational quality from childhood. On average, we can learn till the age of 35 or even beyond. But to make a career in sports, we have to prepare our body only from the age of 10 to 15 and at the same age we get the real skill of the game.
The number of children in sports at the national and international level is very negligible and it is necessary to make a career in that field. A great opportunity is available, he added suggesting that the schools should organizes play for at least one hour every day.
While explaining the importance of sports, District Collector Meena said, sports can lead to a good body and good health. At this age, girls in kindergartens should stop worrying about life and pay more attention to sports along with education. Contribute to this festival to build your future with willpower and perseverance, he said.
Along with Kabaddi, running competitions, cultural programs, essay, painting, singing competitions were organized in this festival. The winning girls will be sent to Nagpur for the next regional competition.
