A view of demonstrations of the flood rescue work.

Gadchiroli June 9 (District correspondent) The Nagpur squad of National Disaster Response Force Pune had organized a training camp on disaster management awareness and demonstration of flood rescue work at the collectorate here the other day.

Incharge District Collector Dhanaji Patil, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Kumar Ashirvad, District Superintendent of Police Nilotpal, Additional Superintendent of Police Kumar Chinta, Resident Deputy Collector Samadhan Shendge, Disaster Management Consultant Krishna Reddy, District Disaster Management Officer Nilesh Teltumbde were prominently present at the programme.

A detailed information and guidance on the disaster related issues in the district was given to the participants as well as visit to various dangerous places, inspection of rescue material in police department was done during the training programme.

The training was conducted by police officials and rescue team personnel in which Circle Officers, Talathis, Gram Sevakas, Kotwals, Police jawans in flood prone areas participated and learnt the tactics of rescue work.

Similar training will be given to the rescue team, swimming volunteers of the force, employees in flood prone areas of Aheri, Etapalli, Bhamragarh, Mulchera talukas shortly.

In-charge Collector Dhanaji Patil has appealed to the employees take the training. Also, demonstrations of the flood rescue operations as well as boating training in Wainganga River at Kotgal Barrage was also given to the police jawans and rescue workers.
