Gadchiroli Nov. 7 (District Correspondent) Even as the preparations are being made by the Congress workers for the Bharat Jodo Yatra currently underway under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, various sections of society have expressed their willingness to join this yatra voluntarily.
The office bearers of the Old Pension Association met the District Congress President Mahendra Bramhanwade and Maharashtra Pradesh General Secretary Dr. Namdeo Kirsan in the district office of the Congress party here and handed over them a letter of joining the yatra.
Since the Congress has announced to implement the old pension scheme in the states where the Congress comes to power in the future, officials of this organization want to meet Rahul Gandhi and felicitate him and participate in Bharat Jodo Yatra.
A 3500-kilometre-long Bharat Jodo Padayatra has started from Kanyakumari and arrived in Maharashtra on November 7. This yatra will stay in Maharashtra for 15 days and will go from Nanded to Madhya Pradesh via Hingoli, Washim, Akola and Buldhana district.
During this walk, Rahul Gandhi is talking to numerous people from different walks of society like farmers, laborers, small and medium industrialists, youths, he meets on the road and understands their problems. The old pension scheme has been implemented for the employees in the Congress ruled states.
Dr. Namdev Kirsan has informed that thousands of officials of old pension organization will participate in Bharat Jodo Yatra from the district of Gadchiroli. District President of the Old Pension Association Gurudev Navghade, Vice President Ankush Mailare, General Secretary Bapu Moonghate, Ganesh Akhade and delegation were present while giving a letter of joining the yatra.
