
Gadchiroli April 19 (District Correspondent) The Silver Jubilee of ‘Gadchiroli District Amateur Karate Association’ was celebrated at the City Heart Hotel here the other day.
Gadchiroli – Chimur Lok Sabha MP Ashok Nete was mainly present. Senior BJP leader Baburao Kohle, President of District Karate Association Prashant Waghare, Vice President Rupraj Wakode, Karate Guide Avinash Vargatiwar, Rahul Namde Police Inspector, Punam Namde, PSI Sanghamitra Bambode and Yogesh Chavan were prominently present.
The portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was garlanded and traditional lamp was lighted by the guests. Ms. Sheela Shinde enthralled the audience with her melodious song.
Raje Chhatrapati Gadchiroli District Karate Award and Best Karate Player Award was given to the winners of inter-varsity competition and Maharashtra Karate Association competition on this occasion. The players were felicitated with certificates of appreciation and a bouquet.
Mr. Nete in his speech appealed the students of the district to learn karate lessons saying it is an important part of life for the self defense and good health. Mr. Waghre revealed the history of Gadchiroli Karate Association. Due to the sport of karate, the students get a disciplined life, he stated. Mr. Rupraj Wakode gave guidance on old and new karate games.
Mr. Rahul Namde and Mrs. Poonam Namde encouraged the students to win state and national competitions in karate. Young students were guided about good touch and bad touch. In the current scenario, Karate is a basic element of life and it is the need of the hour to train the students and youths, they said.
