Gadchiroli Feb. 20 (District Correspondent) Mr. Sandeep Katkurwar, District Organizer of Maharashtra Nashabandi Mandal at Gadchiroli has been honored by Chetna Deaddiction Center Jalgaon with the state level Shiv Chetna Award 2023.
The award was presented to Mr. Karkutwar at the hands of senior journalist and well-known writer Uttam Kamble recently. On this occasion, social activist Rakshandatai Sonwane Mumbai, ex-MLA Jayprakash Baviskar, Hemant Patil of comedy fair fame, writer Manoj Govindwar, director of Chetna Addiction Centre Nitin Vispute were mainly present.
Uttam Kamble said that Chetna De Addiction Center is working for the welfare of those who are disappointed due to addiction. Gandhiji used to say that freedom is not the end, we have to move towards Swaraj. Every citizen should fight for system change, he added.

Taking inspiration from his grandfather Bapuji Katkurwar since his student days, Mr. Sandeep Katkurwar has been consistently doing effective work of drug addiction in Gadchiroli and Chandrapur districts. He has put up anti-addiction poster exhibitions in Zadiboli literary meets and other platforms like annual Ganesh festival, Durga Utsav and National Service Scheme camps of various colleges. He has also been doing public awareness work by distributing books. He is the executive member of Rashtrasant Vichar Sahitya Parishad.
