Speaking on the occasion Mr. Gosawi said Shivaji Maharaj had great vision. He thought about what can be done for Swarajya. He always thought about how it would be expanded. The forts built by him are a good example of this. These forts were so impregnable that the enemy had to think a thousand times while entering them. The fortification around the fort was strong.

With the foresight that the threat of the enemy could be from the water as well as from the land, he built the forts. Even today, Maharashtra is proud of this rich heritage. Guerrilla war was the main weapon of Shivaji Maharaj. Many campaigns and battles were won by Shivaji Maharaj by applying guerrilla tactics. No matter how huge the enemy’s army was, Shivaji Maharaj defeated it with the help of some mavlas. His entire work is so inspiring and thrilling that the modern generation should learn, Gosavi said.
