Gadchiroli March 8 (District Correspondent) The students of Green Club of Samidha College of Civil Services affiliated to Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKKSU) Ramtek visited village Wakdi near here on Thursday and cleaned the village and then through rallies and street plays, they convinced the villagers that water conservation is the need of the hour.
Gram Panchayat Sarpanch of Wakdi Ms. Sarita Choudhari, Dy. Sarpanch Jalandar Bhoyar, members Ravindra Kannake, Shubhangi Borkute, Nandini Nimbod, Narmada Kannake, Charandas Borkute, Atul Meshram were prominently present.
Meshram Shipai Gram Panchayat Wakdi Mayabai Pal Anganwadi Maid Geetabai Rohankar Anganwadi Maid Jivita Borkute Helper Anganwadi Vakdi Mrs Chaudhary Madam Mukta Baisare Sir Now Madam Zilla Parishad Primary School Vakdi etc dignitaries showed their presence in this activity.
The activity started with a round trip from the village chanting the slogans of planting trees for water conservation and cleanliness, after which a street play was presented in the main square. Ms. Sharwari Randive, Nalu Gurunule, Dipali Shende, Rohini Satpute, Nikita Bedekar, China Bhoyar, Isha Sonwane, Janvi Mandale performed roles in this play.
The students then cleaned the village. Ms. Sarita Chaudhari, Mr. Jalinder Bhoyar, Ms. Chaudhary, Head mistress of Zilla Parishad Primary School attended the cleanliness drive. They were welcomed with saplings by Samidha College. Mr. Kalidas Raut, President of Samidha College of Civil Services, told the villagers that water conservation is the need of the hour. He appealed that water should be used properly.
A large number of villagers participated in the activities of the Green Club. Prin. Tilesh Mohurle, Prof. Nitin Naitam, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Prof. Pritam Kohpare Mr. Sushant Raut Ms. Sushmita Madavi and others participated in the programme.
