Gadhiroli Feb. 25 (District Correspondent) Samidha College of Civil Services celebrated the birth anniversary of Sant Gadge Baba the other day. On this occasion, garlands were offered to the image of Saint Gadge Baba and lamps were lit by the guests.

The President of the College Kalidas Raut presided over the programme while Prof. Tilesh Mohurle, Prof. Nitin Naitam, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Prof. Pritam Kohpare were prominently present

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kalidas Raut explained Gadge Baba’s concept that God is not in stone but in the people. Today, the students should celebrate the birth anniversary of great men not by dancing to the tune DJ but by reading their biographies, he adviced.

Prof. Tilesh Mohurle said Maharashtra has given the legacy of a saint from the beginning. From this, many saints tried to change the social situation of Maharashtra through enlightenment, one of them is Sant Gadge Baba.

Prof. Ankush Gohne said Gadge Maharaj brought about a great revolution in Maharashtra despite not having the school education. Today students have the facility of education hence it is important for them to make their own career.

Prof. Pritam Kohpare explained the educational contribution of Sant Gadgebaba to the students. On this occasion many students of the college threw light on the life of Sant Gadge Baba. They included Suhani Ramteke, Nalu Gurnule, Kumkum Bhandekar, China Bhoyar, Sharwari Ranadive, Prashant Gurnule.

The program was conducted by Ms. Deepali Shende and vote of thanks was proposed by Nikita Gedekar. A large number of students, staff members attended the programme.
