
Gadchiroli April 14 (District Correspondent) Reading- Study Campaign was taken up at Mahila Mahavidyalaya here to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The program was presided over by the principal of the college, Dr. Yogesh Patil; while Dr. senate member Dr. Nandaji Satpute, Dr. Pramod Bodhane, Dr. Kundan Dufare, Dr. Pragya Tripathi were present as the chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Satpute said that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was a great thinker, constitutionalist, social reformer and education lover. He gave the message of ‘Educate, Organize and Agitate’. His life story is an ideal of knowledge. The reading campaign will help to properly understand his thoughts and work, he added.
The Reading Study Campaign on the occasion of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary is an inspiring initiative. The objective of the program is to study Babasaheb’s life work, read literature on him, and instil a reading habit and curiosity among the students, said principal Dr. Yogesh Patil in his presidential address.
In this program, 18 hours of study were conducted by the students from April 11, 2025, and the students participated in it spontaneously. In it, books based on education, equality, and brotherhood were read by the students. In order to see the humanitarian inspiring work of Babasaheb, activities such as reading meetings, discussion sessions, essay and oratory competitions, painting and poster competitions based on Babasaheb’s thoughts, and exhibitions of his literature will be organized under this campaign, it was informed.
With this initiative, the reading culture will be promoted, Babasaheb’s thoughts will reach the society, love of knowledge will be instilled among the students, and awareness of social equality will increase, hoped Dr. Patil.
Dr. Jyotsna Raut, Prof. Darshana Khewle, Prof. Kirti Pullakwar, Prof. Vivek Yemjelwar, Prof. Maroti Waghdhare, Dr. Amit Gajbhiye, Prof. Chandrashekhar Gadsulwar, Madhukar Dhanorkar were among the participants.
