Gadchiroli Aug. 28 (District Correspondent) As many as 13 leftist, progressive, Ambedkarite political parties in the state have come together and formed an alliance under the name of Pragatik Party. This front is going to work vigorously in Gadchiroli district also and the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be contested, told Mr. Ramdas Jarate, District Convenor of the Front in a press conference here today.
The BJP government at the centre and the state has done anti-people work to suppress the rights of OBCs, Dalits and tribals during their rule. By implementing religious and communal agendas, they have worked to destroy the common people for the benefit of the capitalists. To work against this government, this front has been formed, he told.
Shetkari Kamgar Party, Janata Dal (Secular), Bahujan Republican Socialist Party, Swabhimani Party, Swabhimani Farmers’ Union, Marxist Communist Party, Communist Party of India, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi, Satyashodak Communist Party, Lal Nishan Party, CPI (ML) Liberation Party, RPI (Secular) and Shramik Mukti Dal are participating in the alliance.
At the local level, All India Republican Party, Gondwana Gantantra Party, Tribal Youth Council, Gram Sabha have also been involved in this alliance and efforts are being made to unite public opinion against the present government, Jarate further told.
The alliance will soon raise their voices in the entire district on the issues like OBC reservation in Gadchiroli district, unemployment, inflation, poor condition of irrigation and education, corruption in development works, loot of iron ore in the name of development, growing communalism, atrocities on Dalits, tribals and anti-Bahujan conspiracies in the university, it was informed.

Jagdish Meshram, District Secretary of CPM Amol Markwar, District President of Samajwadi Party Iliyas Pathan, All India Republican Party Regional President Prin. Prakash Dudhe, District President Hansraj Undirwade, City President Anil Barsagde, District President of Gondwana Republic Party Prashant Madavi, Tribal Youth Parishad’s Vinod Madavi, Progressive Youth Aghadi District President Bhai Akshay Kosankar, Titiksha Doijad.
