Gadchiroli Aug. 28 (District Correspondent) Keeping aside the traditional rituals of  the ;Thirteenth Day’ ceremony’, a social worker of the city Haridas Kotrange gave donations to the social organizations and offered meals to the inmates of Vriddhashrama (Home for Age-old) here on Sunday and has set an ideal before the society.

Ms. Parvatabai Mangruji Kotrange, the mother of Mr. Kotrange who is Principal Secretary of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti City Branch and a resident of Gokul Nagar ward had passed away due to old age on 9th August 2023. Generally, people perform the thirteenth day programme on the death of a family member but Kotrange, who is progressive thinking person and associated with the ANIS, kept these rituals and traditions of the society away and donated money to the social organizations of the city.

He also donated food to the helpless elderly people in the local Matoshree Vriddhashrama. Mr. Kotrange donated a financial assistance of Rs. 5000 to Maharashtra Annis City Branch Gadchiroli, Rs. 5,000 to Samyak Buddha Vihar Gokulnagar and Rs. 10,000 to Mali Samaj Sangathana.

The cheques of the financial assistance were presented to the office-bearers of the concerned organizations. For his progressive and courageous action, District President of Maharashtra Annis and senior journalist Mr. Rohidas Raut, State Co-Ordinator of Scientific Intelligence Department Vilas Nimborkar, District Working President Vitthalrao Kothare, District Principal Secretary  Purushottam Thackeray, Advisor of ANIS D.D. Sontakke, Mali Samaj Sangathana’s Ms. Sudha Chaudhary, Working President of City Branch Mr. Upendra Rohankar, Members Shankar Chaudhary, Vice President Damodhar Upparwar, Treasurer G. M. Bramhanwade, Ms. Sanjeevani Kotrange and others congratulated Mr. Kotarange and his family for their gesture.

The initiative is being widely appreciated among the social circles here.
